3.Comparison between the Number of Teaching Posts within Entitlement and the Number of Teacher Accounts in e-Services Portal
Government and Aided schools can find the table "Comparison between the Number of Teaching Posts within Entitlement and the Number of Teacher Accounts in e-Services Portal" at the bottom of "Teacher List" under "School Profile". This table indicates whether the school has registered e-Services accounts for all serving teachers, the teachers' appointment information is accuracte, and the employment records of departed teachers have been terminated.
There are eight columns in the table. The first and second columns show the ranks within the approved staff establishment and the number of teaching posts to be employed. The remaining columns show the number of teachers with e-Services Portal accounts registered with the school. The system counts the number of teachers using "Full-time Equivalent (FTE)" based on the "Rank", "Terms of Employment (TOE)" and "On-leave/On Secondment for 20xx/xx School Year" that the school has input for the teachers in e-Services Portal. If the salary of a teacher is paid from different sources of funding, the teaching post is counted separately under corresponding columns.
As the e-Services Portal only records the substantive rank of a teacher, if there are unfilled promotion ranks in the school, there may be a discrepancy between the number of teaching posts within entitlement and the number of teachers in the e-Services Portal for certain ranks. Nevertheless, the total number of teaching posts should tally with the total number of teachers, i.e. the number of teaching posts in red should be the same as the number of accounts in blue. If the two numbers do not match, please check whether there are teachers whose appointment information requires updating.
•Temporary teachers who substitute teachers on leave do not take up any teaching posts in the approved entitlement. They should not be added to the numbers in "Blue" cells.
•Teachers in green are employed by cash grants from the Government or schools' private funding and their teaching posts are not included in the approved entitlement. Therefore, they should not be added to the numbers in blue.
