Frequently asked questions

1. What function does the system provide for school to help teachers input their subjects taught for the current school year?

If the school is using WebSAMS for timetabling and it wants to help teachers input their subjects taught and the number of teaching periods for the current school year, the "Import Subject Data to e-Services Portal" feature should come in handy. The School Administrator can import the number of teaching periods from WebSAMS to e-Services Portal, thus saving the time for re-entering the data.

Before importing subject data to e-Services Portal, please download the data file from WebSAMS under "Extract Teaching Period for e-Services Portal". The file is a tab delimited text file (*.txt) and contains information including school ID, school year, name of the teacher, identity card number, subjects taught, number of teaching periods, etc.

Then, from the School Desk menu on the left, select "Import and Export" then "Import Subject Data to e-Services Portal". Click "Browse" to select the file downloaded from WebSAMS and click "Next step: Perform File Checking".

File checking results will be shown in a separate page. Select the teaching records to be uploaded and click "Upload Selected Records to e-Services Portal".

After importing the data, the teacher concerned may log onto the Teacher Desk and click "Copy Subject from WebSAMS" in the corresponding page. The number of teaching periods imported from WebSAMS will be recorded in Teacher Profile. Please review the information in the profile before submitting it for the school's verification. If necessary, the teacher may make amendments before submission.
