3.  How do I determine the appropriate terms of employment for different teachers in the system?

 

The School Administrator should determine a teacher’s terms of employment based on the source of funding for his/her salary. Aided schools may refer to the following chart for a comparison between the "Terms of Employment in Appointment Forms for Teaching Staff in Aided Schools" and the "Corresponding Terms of Employment in the e-Services Portal"

F(i) Regular Teacher/ Regular Teacher with Defined Contract Period; and G(i) Required to contribute to the Subsidised/ Grant Schools Provident Fund

#1 Regular

The terms are the same as above but the teacher is on secondment to EMB/EDB

#2 Regular (On secondment to EMB/EDB)

F(iii) Native-speaking English Teacher (NET)

#3 Employed under the NET/ELTA Scheme

F(i) Temporary teacher; D The vacant post arises as a result of Retirement/Resignation/ Termination; and G(ii) Required to contribute to the school's MPF Scheme

#4 Temporary (Fill a post of staff establishment)

F(i) Temporary Teacher; D The vacant post arises as a result of No-pay/Paid Leave; and G(ii) Required to contribute to the school's MPF Scheme

#5 Temporary (Substitute a staff on leave)

F(i) Temporary Teacher; D The vacant post arises as a result of Deployment/ Secondment; and G(ii) Required to contribute to the school's MPF Scheme

#6 Temporary (Substitute a staff seconded to EMB/ EDB)

No need to fill in the Appointment Form as teacher's salary is not paid by Salaries Grant

#7 Others (By special funding/ self-financed)
