3.How do I interpret the table titled "Comparison between the Number of Teaching Posts within Entitlement and the Number of Teacher Accounts in e-Services Portal" ?

Aided and government schools may find the table "Comparison between the Number of Teaching Posts within Entitlement and the Number of Teacher Accounts in e-Services Portal" at the bottom of  "Teacher List" under "School Profile". This table aims to show the distribution of all serving teachers in the school, and through data comparison, allow the school to check if e-Services accounts have been created for all serving teachers, the accuracy of teacher appointment information, and whether the employment records of departed teachers have been terminated.

There are 8 columns in the table. The first and second columns show the approved ranks within staff entitlement and the number of teaching post to be employed. The remaining columns show the statistics of teachers with an e-Services Portal account. The system assigns teachers to different columns based on the information that the school has input for them in such fields as "Rank", "Terms of Employment (TOE)" and "On-leave/On Secondment for 20xx/xx School Year" in e-Services Portal. It uses "Full-time Equivalent (FTE)" to calculate teacher numbers. If the salary of a teacher comes from different sources of funding, the teacher will have more than one appointment, and his/her teaching posts will be counted towards the statistics under corresponding columns.

As the e-Services Portal only records the substantive rank of a teacher, if there are unfilled promotion ranks in the school, there may be a discrepancy between the number of teaching posts within entitlement and the number of teachers in the e-Services Portal for certain ranks. However, the total number of teaching posts should tally with the total number of teachers, i.e. the number of teaching posts in "Red" cells should be the same as the number of accounts in "Blue" cells. If the two numbers do not match, please check whether there is any teacher on the Teacher List whose appointment information requires updating.

Temporary teachers who substitute teachers on leave do not take up any teaching posts in the approved entitlement, so they should not be added to the numbers in "Blue" cells.

Teachers in "Green" cells are employed by cash grants from the government or schools' private funding and their teaching posts are not included in the approved entitlement. Therefore, they should not be added to the numbers in "Blue" cells.
